Precision metal cutting for signs, brackets, enclosures, and custom fabrication. Clean cuts, fast turnaround.
Plasma cutting is a CNC-guided thermal cutting process that uses a superheated jet of ionized gas to slice through electrically conductive metals with speed and precision. At Mavtech Designs, our plasma cutting table delivers clean, accurate cuts in steel, aluminum, and stainless steel — making it the ideal solution for custom shapes, signage, structural brackets, decorative metalwork, and industrial components.
Unlike laser cutting, plasma excels at cutting thicker materials quickly and cost-effectively. It is the go-to process for medium-run production, one-off custom parts, and large-format sheet work where speed and economy matter as much as precision. Simply send us your DXF or DWG file and we will handle the rest.
Whether you need a single decorative piece or a batch of 500 brackets, plasma cutting offers the perfect balance of quality, speed, and affordability for your metal fabrication project.
We stock common sheet metals and can source specialty alloys for your project.
Our most commonly cut material. Mild steel offers excellent strength, weldability, and affordability. We cut up to 1″ thick with clean edges ready for welding, grinding, or painting. Perfect for structural brackets, signs, plates, and general fabrication work.
For applications requiring corrosion resistance and a clean appearance. We cut stainless up to 3/4″ thick with precision CNC guidance. Ideal for food-grade equipment, marine hardware, architectural elements, and medical or lab components.
Lightweight and corrosion-resistant, aluminum is a popular choice for signs, decorative panels, and lightweight structural components. We cut aluminum up to 1/2″ thick with clean edges and minimal heat-affected zone for a quality finish.
From custom signage to industrial components, plasma cutting handles it all.
Business signs, address numbers, decorative lettering, and logo cutouts in steel or aluminum. Plasma cutting produces bold, clean profiles that stand out on storefronts, offices, and residential properties. Powder coating and paint finishes available.
Structural brackets, wall mounts, equipment supports, and custom mounting plates. Whether you need a single heavy-duty bracket or a batch of standardized mounts, plasma cutting delivers strong, accurate parts ready for welding or bolting.
Wall art, gates, railings, ornamental pieces, and architectural accents. Plasma cutting brings intricate designs to life in metal, transforming DXF artwork into stunning decorative elements for homes, businesses, and public spaces.
Flanges, plates, gussets, repair parts, and custom fabrication components. We produce the flat metal parts that keep your equipment running and your projects moving forward. Quick turnaround for urgent maintenance and repair needs.
The smart choice for metal cutting projects that demand speed, economy, and versatility.
Same-week delivery on most jobs. Our streamlined workflow from file upload to finished parts means your project stays on schedule. Rush orders available for urgent needs.
Lower per-unit cost than laser cutting for thick materials. Plasma cutting delivers maximum value for medium-run production, structural components, and projects where material thickness exceeds laser capabilities.
Complex shapes cut directly from your DXF or DWG files. From simple rectangles to intricate artwork, our CNC plasma table reproduces your designs faithfully in steel, stainless, and aluminum.
Minimal post-processing needed. Our optimized cut parameters produce clean edges with minimal dross and slag, reducing grinding and finishing time on your parts.
Handle full 4×8 sheet stock. Our cutting table accommodates standard sheet sizes, enabling efficient nesting and large-scale parts that smaller machines simply cannot produce.
Single piece or production run — we treat every job with the same care and attention. Need one bracket? No problem. Need 500? We will optimize nesting for the best price.
A simple four-step workflow from your design file to delivered metal parts.
Send us your DXF, DWG, or PDF file and we will review it for plasma cutting compatibility. We optimize your design for the best cut quality — adjusting lead-ins, kerf compensation, and nesting to minimize waste and maximize edge quality.
Choose your alloy, thickness, and finish. We will confirm material availability, pricing, and any recommendations based on your application. We stock common gauges of mild steel, stainless, and aluminum for fast turnaround.
Your parts are cut on our CNC plasma table with precision-guided motion control. Optimized cut speeds, amperage settings, and torch height ensure clean edges and accurate profiles on every piece.
Parts are deburred, ground smooth, and finished to your specification. Powder coating, paint, and other surface treatments are available. Parts are carefully packaged and shipped or available for local pickup in Michigan.
DXF is the preferred file format for plasma cutting, as it translates directly to CNC toolpaths with minimal conversion. We also accept DWG, PDF, and AI (Adobe Illustrator) files. If you only have a sketch or image, we can create a DXF file for you through our CAD design services for an additional fee.
Our plasma cutting capabilities handle up to 1″ thick mild steel, 3/4″ thick stainless steel, and 1/2″ thick aluminum. Cut quality is best on materials 1/8″ and thicker. For thinner gauge sheet metal, we may recommend laser cutting for a finer edge. Contact us with your specific requirements and we will recommend the best process.
Yes. We offer deburring, grinding, powder coating, and paint finishes on all plasma-cut parts. Powder coating is especially popular for outdoor signage and structural components because of its durability and weather resistance. Let us know your finish requirements when requesting a quote.
Pricing depends on material type, thickness, part complexity, and quantity. Simple parts in mild steel are very affordable, while intricate designs in stainless steel cost more due to slower cut speeds and material cost. The best way to get accurate pricing is to send us your file for a free, no-obligation quote — we typically respond within 24 hours.
