From napkin sketches to production-ready 3D models. Expert CAD services using SolidWorks and Fusion 360.
At Mavtech Designs, we transform ideas into precisely engineered digital models ready for manufacturing. Whether you have a rough napkin sketch, a legacy part that needs reverse engineering, or a complex assembly requiring parametric modeling, we deliver files that go straight to production without rework — backed by 15 years of hands-on CAD experience.
We specialize in SolidWorks and Fusion 360 — the industry-standard platforms for mechanical design, product development, and manufacturing engineering. Every model we produce is fully parametric, properly constrained, and built with real-world manufacturability in mind.
Our engineering approach goes beyond simply drawing geometry. We consider material properties, tolerance stack-ups, assembly sequences, and downstream manufacturing processes from the very first sketch. That means fewer revisions, lower tooling costs, and faster time to market for your product.
Every project receives a complete package of production-ready design documentation.
We take your initial idea — whether it is a rough sketch, verbal description, or reference images — and develop it into a refined 3D concept. Multiple design iterations ensure the form, function, and ergonomics are dialed in before committing to detailed modeling. Every concept is evaluated for feasibility across your target manufacturing method.
Fully parametric solid models built with best-practice feature trees that are easy to modify and update. We handle complex surfacing for organic forms, multi-body part design, and large assemblies with hundreds of components. All models follow industry naming conventions and are organized for downstream PDM/PLM integration.
ASME Y14.5-compliant 2D drawings with proper GD&T callouts, dimensional tolerances, surface finish requirements, material specifications, and revision blocks. Every drawing includes complete Bills of Materials, section views, detail views, and notes required for quoting and manufacturing without ambiguity.
DFM analysis tailored to your production method — whether CNC machining, injection molding, sheet metal fabrication, or 3D printing. We identify undercuts, draft angle issues, wall thickness problems, and tolerance conflicts before they become expensive tooling changes. Expect 15–30% cost reduction through DFM optimization.
We deliver files in whatever format your manufacturing partners or internal team requires.
Universal 3D exchange format. Compatible with virtually all CAD/CAM systems. Ideal for vendor communication.
Legacy neutral format for surface and solid geometry transfer between dissimilar CAD platforms.
Tessellated mesh format for 3D printing and rapid prototyping. Exported at optimal resolution for your application.
Native Fusion 360 archive with full parametric history, sketches, and timeline for continued editing.
AutoCAD native format for 2D drawings. Industry standard for architectural and mechanical drafting.
Open exchange format for 2D profiles. Essential for laser cutting, plasma cutting, and waterjet programming.
Polygon mesh format for rendering, animation, and visualization applications.
Modern 3D printing format with color, material, and texture data. Superior to STL for additive manufacturing.
Portable 2D drawing format for universal viewing. Includes 3D PDF with embedded interactive models on request.
A streamlined four-step workflow designed for clarity, efficiency, and zero surprises.
We start with a detailed project intake. Share your sketches, reference parts, specifications, or simply describe what you need. We will discuss intended use, manufacturing method, materials, quantities, and timeline to establish clear project requirements and a fixed-price quote.
We build your design in SolidWorks or Fusion 360 using industry best practices, constructing fully parametric models with clean feature trees, proper constraints, and logical part/assembly structure. Complex assemblies receive interference checks and motion studies as needed.
You receive screenshots, renders, or an interactive 3D viewer link to review the design. We walk through dimensions, clearances, and any design decisions. Two rounds of revisions are included in every project. Additional revisions are available at a transparent hourly rate.
Upon approval, we export and deliver your complete file package: native CAD files, STEP/IGES for manufacturing, STL for printing, engineering drawings in PDF and DWG, and a Bill of Materials. All files are organized, clearly named, and archived for future reference.
We can work from almost anything: hand sketches, photos of existing parts, verbal descriptions, technical specifications, or even a physical sample we can measure and reverse engineer. The more detail you provide upfront, the faster and more accurate the first iteration will be. At minimum, we need to understand the part’s function, approximate dimensions, material, and how it will be manufactured.
Simple single-part designs typically take 2–5 business days. Multi-part assemblies with engineering drawings range from 1–3 weeks depending on complexity. Rush turnaround is available for an additional fee — we can deliver production-ready models in as little as 24 hours for urgent projects. We provide a firm timeline estimate during the consultation phase.
Yes, absolutely. Upon final payment, you receive full ownership of all design files, including native CAD files with parametric history. You are free to modify, manufacture, and distribute the designs without restriction. We do not retain any licensing rights to client work. If you need a formal IP assignment agreement, we are happy to accommodate.
Yes. Mavtech Designs offers in-house 3D printing (FDM, SLA), CNC machining, and plasma cutting. We can take your project from initial concept through CAD modeling and directly into manufacturing — all under one roof. This eliminates the back-and-forth between a design firm and a manufacturer, saving you time and ensuring the design intent is preserved through production.
Tell us about your project and receive a detailed quote within 24 hours. No obligation, no hassle.
